MAISON BAGATELLE

ROLE: Designer, Art Director

TIMELINE: 1 week

Maison Bagatelle is a Parisian Restaurant and Bakery, primely located in Dubai's Sheikh Mohammad Bin Rashed Boulevard - Down Town district. It is amongst the most prestigious areas in Dubai, and happens to be the perfect base to house and further reflect upon the company’s core values which revolve around premium quality, extravagant customer service and exquisite setting & ambience.

Oversized Menu

The first option is for an oversized menu in a vertical format. This menu would be made out of a hard board that would be wrapped in cloth with a silk-screened version of the logo on the front. Cloth corners on the back for the menu to tuck the menu into would make for a clean edge that would allow the menus to be changed out easily if the menus were to vary by the season. In this version I was going for an upscale and classy look with typography being the focus. I feel that the typographic approach of this menu falls inline with other similarly branded restaurants and would be a nice update to the menus that they are currently using.

Screw-Post Bound Square Menu

As for the second option, I went with a square format that would highlight the photo that Maison Bagatelle provided me with. Since these photos are gorgeous I wanted to show off the food the customers would soon be ordering. The menu would be assembled with a screw-post-bound leather book that would look nice on the wood tables. This approach for a menu would add to the elegant feel of the restaurant. The screw posts would allow for sections of the menu to be replaced if need.  The images below depict the content of the menu.
